Okay, I believe in silver linings. I believe in good will prevail. I believe there is lesson to be learned from every experience. I'm still angry at someone selfish enough to steal a useless cell phone but I've grown enough to be able to find the good.
The first thing I did after filing a police report and cancelling the cell was to sit down and write an email to all my contacts explaining the situation and asking them to send me their contact details including cell numbers. I assured them that no confidential information was on my phone and that their details would not be accessible to anyone else due to the security features on the phone.
I have received responses from just about everyone now and the very high majority have added little snippets of news that I otherwise wouldn't have known. It is like I shared something with them so they now feel compelled to share something with me. Now don't get me wrong . . . these are people who get a note from me each month, followed up by phone calls and the local ones I drop in on from time to time, maybe 2 or 3 times a year plus Christmas and Birthdays. The ones from out of town are the ones that are providing me with the most interesting news. Two have friends thinking of selling and would I be a dear and give them a call? Two others want to sell in the next season or so and could I pop round to chat about it? One has a daughter getting married and they're thinking about helping them buy their first home - could I come over and discuss the current market?
I'm sure these leads would have made their way to me eventually as these people are truly loyal but how nice to have them turn a bad situation into something so wonderfully positive!
IN YOUR FACE CELL PHONE THIEF !! (I bet his day isn't turning out as well as mine cause life has a funny way of biting you in the behind when you deserve it the most, lol)
If you're thinking about selling, I'd love to meet with you and provide a Market Analysis and go over my Marketing Plan - it is the little things that make the difference.**
